Pale yellow powder (granules), slightly odorous and bitter, non-toxic, with a specific gravity of 1.42-1.52 and a melting point above 171°C. It is readily soluble in dilute solutions of ethyl acetate, acetone, sodium hydroxide, and sodium carbonate, soluble in ethanol, poorly soluble in benzene, and insoluble in water and gasoline.
Storage is stable. In the form of dust, the lower explosion limit is 21g/m³.

Accelerator DZ [ 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole ] Applications
Accelerator DZ [ 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole ] is primarily used in IR, NR, SBR, NBR, HR, and EPOM systems. Currently, it is a primary acidic vulcanizing agent with a medium cure rate. Its combination with other alkaline vulcanizing agents, such as Willing DM and Willing TMTD, can achieve higher activity. It has a low cure temperature and is easily dispersed in rubber, resulting in no contamination. It is primarily used in the manufacture of tires, belts, rubber shoes, and other industrial rubber products, but cannot be used as a food ingredient.
