Applications of Antioxidant 44PD
Antioxidant 44PD, CAS 101-96-2 Uses:
This product is a high-performance amine antioxidant that delivers excellent antioxidant effects across a wide range of petroleum products. It exhibits outstanding free-radical scavenging and desulfurization capabilities. It is widely used in mineral oils, hydro-processed oils, synthetic oils, and vegetable oils.
Typical applications include:
1. High-efficiency gasoline antioxidant and gum inhibitor—its performance far exceeds that of the commonly used T-501 antioxidant. It is particularly suitable as an additive for cracked or thermally cracked gasoline (high-olefin content gasoline); it effectively inhibits olefin oxidation and gum formation, thereby preventing carbon deposits in combustion chambers, on piston crowns, and on cylinder heads during use. Compared to other amine antioxidants, it requires lower dosage rates while providing superior antioxidant performance, significantly reducing environmental pollution.
2. Gasoline mercaptan removal agent—in the presence of air and water, 44PD acts as a catalyst to convert mercaptans into disulfides. Since 44PD functions solely as a catalyst and is insoluble in alkali, it remains in the gasoline after the subsequent alkali-removal process, with its antioxidant efficiency remaining completely unaffected.
3. Specialized antioxidant for vegetable oils.
4. General-purpose antioxidant for natural and synthetic rubbers.
5. Polymerization inhibitor for water treatment applications. Note: To achieve optimal performance, the operating temperature should range from room temperature to 125°C. When used in gasoline, the dosage depends on olefin content and storage conditions, typically ranging from 0.001% to 0.01%. For cracked gasoline, it should be added directly at the distillation outlet.
