Bisphenol S
Easily soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, soluble in alcohols and ethers, slightly soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, and insoluble in water. The bisphenol S molecule contains two hydroxyl groups and a strong electron withdrawing sulfone group, making it more acidic than other phenols.

Bisphenol S Application
I. Bisphenol S is mainly used as a fixing agent. Fixing agent A can be prepared using bisphenol S as a raw material.
II. It possesses excellent heat resistance, light resistance, and antioxidant properties, and is a raw material for the synthesis of polycarbonate, epoxy resin, polysulfone, polyethersulfone, and polyethersulfone resins.
III. It is also used in the manufacture of color photographic materials, contrast enhancers, thermal recording materials (developers), daily-use surfactants, and highly effective deodorants. It can be used as an additive in plating solutions, a leather tanning agent, a dispersant for high-temperature dyeing of disperse dyes, a curing accelerator for phenolic resins, and a resin flame retardant. It is also an intermediate in pesticides, dyes, and auxiliaries, and can be directly applied in coatings, leather modifiers, and metal plating brighteners.
