Decahydronaphthalene Application And Purpose:
1. Decahydronaphthalene can be used as a solvent for paint, used to extract fat and wax, instead of turpentine for the manufacture of shoe polish and floor wax, and can be mixed with benzene and ethanol as a fuel for internal combustion engines.
2. Used as a liquid for the measurement of refractive index, and also as a solvent.
3. Because its refractive index is similar to that of glass, it can fill the glass gap in light scattering, and keep the optical path constant.
