Description

Colorless liquid at room temperature, the molecular weight of 90.08, melting point 4 ℃, the boiling point of 90.3 ℃, the refractive index (nd20) 1.3697, viscosity 0.664mpa.s, latent heat of vaporization 8382KJ / kmol. Almost all can be mixed in any proportion with organic solvents, alcohols, ketones, esters, etc., slightly soluble in water.

Application

Dimethyl carbonate is excellent methylating agent, hydroformylation agent, hydroxymethyl agent and methoxy agent, has a very reactive chemical properties. As intermediates in organic synthesis, are widely used solvent in paints, coatings and adhesives industry. Alternatively, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, xylene and the like, and conventional solvents. Dimethyl carbonate can also do a gasoline additive, high-energy battery electrolyte, water treatment agent, can be prepared polycarbonate, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fragrances, synthetic lubricants. Is phosgene, dimethyl sulfate, methyl chlorine and other virulent ideal alternative, known as the green chemical products.
