N,N'-Diisopropyl-p-phenylenediamine

CAS No.: 101-96-2
Molecular Weight: 220.36
Molecular Formula: C14H24N2
Product form: Dark brown liquid
Typical Uses
1. N,N′-Di-2-butyl-1,4-phenylenediamine is an amine antioxidant with excellent properties, particularly suitable as an additive for pyrolysis or thermal cracking gasoline (high-olefin content gasoline). It effectively prevents olefin oxidation and gel formation, thus avoiding carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, piston top, cylinder head, and other parts of the fuel during use. Compared with other amine antioxidants, this product requires less dosage, has better antioxidant effects, and significantly reduces environmental pollution.
2. In the presence of air and water, N,N′-Di-2-butyl-1,4-phenylenediamine acts as a catalyst to convert thiols into disulfides. Since N,N′-Di-2-butyl-1,4-phenylenediamine is only a catalyst in this process and is itself insoluble in alkali, it remains in the gasoline after subsequent alkali removal, and its antioxidant efficiency is completely unaffected.
3. In addition, N,N′-Di-2-butyl-1,4-phenylenediamine can also be used as a general-purpose antioxidant for natural and synthetic rubber.
