Tributyl Phosphate Application
It is primarily used as a plasticizer for cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, and PVC; as a solvent for paints, coatings, inks, and adhesives; as an antifoaming agent and antistatic agent; and as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
It also serves as an additive for construction materials and as an extreme-pressure, anti-wear agent for lubricating oils.
Additionally, it is used as a flame retardant in aircraft hydraulic fluids; a solvent for the extraction and purification of rare earth elements; an antifoaming agent for oil-well casing cement; a solvent for nuclear fuel processing; a carrier for fluorescent dyes; and an extractant for the purification of wet-process phosphoric acid.
