Applications of Bis(tert-butylperoxyisopropyl)benzene (BIPB)

This product is primarily used in industries such as wire and cable, footwear materials and floor mats, seals, and plastic modification. It serves as a cross-linking agent for plastics and rubbers—including chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), EPDM, EVA, silicone rubber, nitrile rubber (NBR), and fluoroelastomer (FKM)—and can also function as a degradation agent for polypropylene (PP). To achieve the same cross-linking effect, the required dosage is approximately two-thirds that of DCP, and the product generates minimal irritating odor during processing and in the finished goods.
