Light Stabilizer UV-292, CAS: 41556-26-7 / 82919-37-7
Light Stabilizer UV-292 is a multi-purpose liquid hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) designed for high-performance polymer and coating stabilization. Commercial UV-292 is a mixture of two active HALS components: Bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate and Methyl 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl sebacate. The two components are associated with CAS No. 41556-26-7 and 82919-37-7, respectively.
Unlike solid HALS grades such as Light Stabilizer 770, UV-292 is supplied as a liquid formulation. BASF describes Tinuvin 292 as a liquid basic HALS with broad use in coatings, printing and packaging, adhesives and sealants, including solvent-based and water-based exterior coating systems and radiation-curable UV or electron-beam systems.
UV-292 helps protect coatings and polymer materials against photo-oxidative degradation. It can improve retention of gloss and mechanical properties while reducing surface defects such as cracking and chalking during outdoor exposure.

1. As a hindered amine light stabilizer, UV - 292 can effectively prevent the coating from losing its gloss, cracking, spotting, bursting and surface peeling under sunlight exposure, thus greatly extending the service life of the coating.
2. UV - 292 has a synergistic effect with ultraviolet absorbers (such as UV - 327, UV - 9, etc.).
3. It is mainly used in polyolefins, unsaturated polyesters, polymethacrylates, etc. It is especially suitable for polyurethanes because of its good solubility in solvents. It has a better effect in special coatings for automobiles.
