Applications of p-Toluenesulfonyl Chloride (Tosyl Chloride)
It is an intermediate of disperse dyes, ice dyes and acid dyes, and is also used in the production of the drug metsulfuron. It is the main raw material for the preparation of p-toluenesulfonic acid derivatives, which can be used as an acylating agent to improve the fastness of dyes, and can also be used as a raw material for p-toluenesulfonamide and p-toluenesulfonate. It is mainly used as an analytical reagent in industry, and is also used in organic synthesis, dye preparation and molecular rearrangement reaction in hormone synthesis.
