TBBS (NS) (CAS 95-31-8), also known as N-tert-Butyl-2-benzothiazolesulfenamide, is an important sulfenamide-type rubber vulcanization accelerator. It is widely used in natural rubber and synthetic rubber compounds.
TBBS provides a good balance between scorch safety and fast curing performance. It is commonly used in sulfur vulcanization systems and can be used alone or in combination with secondary accelerators to optimize curing performance, modulus development and aging resistance. It is widely used in tires, rubber belts, hoses and other industrial rubber products.

Applications of TBBS (NS)
This product is a delayed-action accelerator for natural rubber, polybutadiene rubber (BR), polyisoprene rubber (IR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and reclaimed rubber; it is particularly suitable for rubber compounds containing highly alkaline carbon black. It offers processing safety, excellent scorch resistance, rapid vulcanization, and high modulus, while allowing for a higher proportion of synthetic rubber in the mix. Low in toxicity and highly efficient, it serves as an ideal substitute for NOBS; due to its excellent overall performance, it is regarded as a standard accelerator. It is widely used in the production of radial tires. It can be used in combination with aldehyde-amine, guanidine, and thiuram accelerators, and forms an effective vulcanization system when paired with the scorch retarder PVI. It is primarily used in the manufacture of tires, rubber footwear, hoses, conveyor belts, and cables.
