Petroleum resin
C9 fractions
Petroleum hydrocarbon resin
C9 petroleum resin is a thermoplastic resin produced from the C9 fraction, a by-product of petroleum cracking, through pretreatment, polymerization, and distillation. It is not a high-yield product, but rather an oligomer with a molecular weight between 300 and 3000.
It has low acidity, good miscibility, and resistance to water, ethanol, and chemicals. It is chemically stable to acids and alkalis, has adjustable viscosity, and exhibits excellent thermal stability.
Petroleum resin is generally not used alone, but rather as a accelerator, regulator, or modifier in conjunction with other resins.
Application
Petroleum resin is used in rubber, road marking paint and adhesive fields.
